MacDonald Highlands is built into the western foothills of the McCullough Range in Henderson, wrapped around DragonRidge Country Club. It is the closest thing the southeast valley has to The Ridges, and it is where the largest Henderson sales keep happening.

What actually distinguishes it

Elevation, on the other side

Where The Ridges looks east from the west rim, MacDonald Highlands looks west across the entire valley from the McCullough foothills. Homes step up the hillside, and the view premium is steep and specific to the lot.

Two gates, then more

There are guard-gated entrances at Valle Verde and at Stephanie, with additional secondary gates serving individual neighborhoods inside.

Custom builders you can name

Blue Heron and Christopher Homes have both built extensively here, in identifiable pockets. The architecture is not uniform, which is a feature if you know what you are looking at and a problem if you do not.

DragonRidge Country Club

The private course was designed by Jay Morrish and David Druzisky — par 72, roughly 6,975 yards, on about 186 acres, opened in 2001. It takes its name from a rock formation on the property, and it has hosted Tiger Woods’ Tiger Jam and the Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge.

Developer Rich MacDonald sold the club in 2014 and bought it back in 2016, which is worth knowing because club ownership drives dues and capital assessments.

Four Seasons is coming

Four Seasons Private Residences Las Vegas is under construction inside MacDonald Highlands — two towers with 171 condominiums plus 21 custom single-family homes, backed by $781 million in construction financing, with deliveries targeted for mid-2027. It is the first branded-residence project of its scale on this side of the valley, and it will change what the community is known for.

Housing and schools

  • Homes from roughly 2,000 square feet to more than 24,000, on lots from about a tenth of an acre to over five acres
  • Named pockets include Dragon Rock, Vu and Vu Pointe, SkyVu, and the Blue Heron homes on Dragon Peak Drive
  • A townhouse product exists here too, which is why the entry price is far below what the community is known for

Clark County School District currently zones this area to Brown Elementary School, Miller Middle School and Foothill High School. Confirm by address on the CCSD zoning locator.

What it costs, and one sale worth knowing

In early September 2026 asking prices here ran from roughly $1.3 million for attached product to the high twenty millions for hillside estates, with fifty or more homes listed. In July 2025, 685 Dragon Peak Drive sold for $25.25 million — 12,655 square feet on 1.25 acres, built in 2020 by Blue Heron.

I represented the buyer on 750 Dragon Ridge Drive in this community, a 14,486-square-foot estate on 2.2 acres that closed at $11,250,001 — a sale the Las Vegas Review-Journal covered at the time. You can see that sale and the rest of my record on the sold homes page.

If you are looking at MacDonald Highlands, the useful conversation is about which specific street and which enclave, not the community as a whole. Call or text me at 702.528.9913.
